Gemma López, the artist from Barcelona, has strong Mediterranean personality, her spiritual connection with nature and deep sensitivity to the world, are the common denotation in the course of her collection. In her collection, the audience can feel the warmth, simplicity and vitality and freshness. The use of some alternative materials such as iron, wood or river stones is an usual feature of her work.
Gemma was born in Barcelona in 1974 and graduated from the Llotja School of Jewellery and Goldsmithing. During her career, she has participated in numerous national and international shows. She has also had many individual and shared exhibitions of her work and has appeared in specialised jewellery and art media. Her jewellery can now be found in designer jewellery shops all over Spain, in many European countries and North and South America. Her commitment to her art and her desire to promote her craft have led her to join various designers associations and to work with public institutions such as the Catalan Crafts Association, FAD Goldsmiths and JOYEX (Spanish Association of Makers and Exporters of Jewellery, Watches and Silver) among others. She is also a member of the Catalan Guild of Jewellers where she currently holds the post of Vice-president of Artisans.
